Jane Murdock - 2003-08-28
I have always been a social worker and spent a very long time working for the State of Missouri. Got sober January 21, 1981.  Earned my Masters of Social Work at Washington University, St. Louis, in 1990, moving into community health and family therapy.

Lived in Kansas City for a couple of years where I worked at Truman Medical Center and survived a 1993 bout of breast cancer (one of my Truman MC residents did the mastectomy!).
Moved to Arizona in 1994 and love the weather -- it's a DRY heat!!!  The last 7 years I have been a hospice social worker, now working with Hospice of the Valley in the Phoenix area, as part of a team serving terminally ill patients and their families in their homes.  My role is to help with "business things" and to provide emotional support to help everyone cope as illness progresses to its natural outcome.  This is THE most rewarding work I have ever done and a marvelous culmination to a social work career.

Update 2013-12-20
I retired in 2013 from Hospice of the Valley and have moved into Phoenix. Nowadays, I enjoy a whole lot of music: singing Alto 1 in a Valley Women's Ensemble and Phoenix Women's Chorus; doing open mics playing Folk Songs from the '60's, Women's Music, humorous songs written by talented songwriters, which I am not!

The 50th Reunion was so much fun! I loved seeing and talking with everyone and hope to attend more reunions!
