BIO from 40th Reunion
Update November 15, 2012

Dear Charley and fellow Classmates,

I’m sorry that I won’t be able to attend our class reunion this year but I will be thinking of all of you and the great times we had.

I am keeping busy running a home based laundry, looking after and helping my father-in-law and taking care of my 2 beautiful grandchildren.

My husband’s mother passed away in 1999 and during November of 1999 we moved in with my father-in-law and I’ve been busy helping him with yard work and cleaning his part of the house as well as our part.

My husband, Gary and I will celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary on September 11th of this year.  We have a daughter, Kathy who is married to Mike Miller and they have a beautiful little girl by the name of Katie Elizabeth.  She is 14 months old and her beautiful little brother James Henry will be 2 months old on August 7th.  They live across town in our former home so I get a chance to see them quite often.

Our son Andy is married to a wonderful girl from St. Joe.  He is an investigator with the Salina, Kansas Police Department.  He and his wife don’t have any children but they have a boxer named Butch.

Gary drives a motor coach for Heartland Motor Coaches out of St. Joe.  The company was selected to drive for the Winter Olympics at Salt Lake City, Utah, February 2002.  He spent entire month out there.  He has taken different groups to New York, Canada, California, Florida, Texas, Mississippi and Washington, D. C.  He had been gone since June 15th.  He came home on the 18th of July and he had to go back out on tour with the New Generation Singers from St. Joe and they will be returning home on August 9th.  I don’t know where he will be going next.

I’ve been having some dental work done as well as trying to keep up with everything else.  I enjoy needlework, cooking, genealogy, sewing for my granddaughter, myself and various projects.  I also teach Sunday School.  Our minister at the church we attend did his pastoral internship under Monk Bryan at the Missouri Methodist Church in Columbia.  His name is Barry Bouleware.

I just live around the corner from Eddie “Choir Boy” Hutchison.  Give my best regards to all my Classmates of ’63.

Sincerely,
Marilyn Barnett Meek (2003-08-04)

Sorry I won"t be able to attend the reunion this year as I am raising our daughters 2 children. They are both in schoolone is in the 5th grade now and the boy is in the 4th grade. I had cancer surgery in 2011 and just had the port that I was given my chemo threw taken out in Sept.2012. I had five chemo treatment left to go and they had to quit because there was something in the chemo drug that I was allergic to. Our son is a police officer with the Salina,Ks Police Department and I guess I"m bragging but I am very proud of him. He had Lymphoma and is cancer free and has been for over 3 years now. Our daughter had cancer in 2006 and she is doing ok. I lost my mother in2007 due to a combination of things . Gary and I moved in with his dad and took care of him after Gary's mom passed away in 1999. Gary's dad passed away in 2009. I have been a caregiver and will always be one. The kids are active in both Boy and Girl Scout-they both have been selling cookies for Girl Scouts and Trails End Popcorn for Boy Scouts. We do what we can to support them and to support the PTO-they recently had a Book Fair and Chili Supper-the book fair brought.
