Vicki Burton Dunscombe spent her Sophomore year as a Kewpie in the class of 1963, however, she moved after that year to Norman, OK, where she finished high school and in 1967 graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in math.   Following college, Vicki moved to St. Louis to teach math at Parkway Central Junior High School.  After three years of teaching, she returned to Columbia and completed a master's degree in counseling.  In 1971, she took a job as a counselor at Hickman High School, remaining there until 1977.  She then decided to return to teaching and taught math at Rockbridge High School for one year.  In 1979, Vicki made a career change and began working at Boone County National Bank.  She currently serves as the bank's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Vicki married Terry Dunscombe, a 1954 graduate of Hickman High School and a graduate of the University of Missouri.  Terry is now retired after a 39 year career with State Farm Insurance.  He was the Fire Division Manager in the regional office at the time of his retirement.  She and Terry have two children, Terre Ann who is a nurse practitioner living in Monett, MO, and Rob, a State Farm agent in Columbia.  They have five grandchildren, ranging in age from 2 to 20.

Vicki has been active in the Columbia community for a number of years.  She is a past president of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, the Columbia Area United Way, the Metro Rotary Club, and the Women's Network.  She currently is chair-elect of the Regional Economic Development Corporation (REDI), and serves on the boards of Meals on Wheels, Reality House, the Central Missouri Food Bank, the University Club, the City Personnel Advisory Board, and the Police Retirement Board.  Vicki was awarded the Chamber's Outstanding Citizen Award in 1992 and the ATHENA Award in 1997.
