Janet has worked as a registered nurse since graduating from nursing school in 1966. During nursing school, she was elected as “The Student with the Most Pleasing Personality”. She was also selected by her school of nursing to attend the National Student Nursing Society Convention in Atlantic City. She has worked in the hospital setting and in home health. Janet was Director of Nursing at Levering Hospital in Hannibal for 5 years. In 1988, she became certified in Oncology (cancer) Nursing, and became a Certified Case Manager in 1992. Janet has worked in the field of oncology case management since 1989. Currently, Janet is owner of Welker & Associates, an Oncology Case Management business. Her major client is the Carpenter’s Union of Greater St. Louis, a minor client is Town & Country Grocery Stores in mid-Missouri.

Janet is married to Wayne Welker, and step-mother to his three grown children and 6 grandchildren. Janet and Wayne lived in St. Charles County from 1989 to 1997. Wayne had a major heart attack and was disabled from his career as Captain of St. Charles County Sheriffs Department in 1997. Janet and Wayne moved to Louisiana in 1998, to a house that was built by Janet’s father, Jim Robbins, in 1980, where they currently reside.
