Kirk Klemme - 2003-09-30
After high school, I attended
Stanford University and graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
and Product Design in 1970 (it was a long war!). I went to work for
Boise Cascade, Composite Can Division, in the St. Louis area in 1970 as
a Project / Design Engineer and worked there for 17 ½ years, progressing
to Manager of Product Design. In 1971 I married Carolyn Faydock,
whom I had met while in college. We had two children, Karen, now
28, and Kevin, now 25. Carolyn and I separated in about 1982 and
eventually divorced. She returned to California and I was granted
custody of our two children.
In 1885, I married Barbara Lewis, who also worked at Boise Cascade. In 1987 following Boise Cascades sale of the division to Sonoco Products, we relocated to the Kansas City area where I joined Sealright Co., Inc. We raised our children in Liberty, MO, where we still live. Barb is Production Manager at Antigen Laboratories. After 11 ½ years with Sealright and following the sale of the company to Huhtamaki, a Finish firm, I left and have since been retired. Daughter Karen is an Engineer living and working (control systems) in Houston, TX.. Son Kevin is a service representative for the Scooter Store (electric scooters for the handicapped) and lives here in the Kansas City area.
Wish I could make it to this reunion, but unfortunately I cannot. I have enjoyed reading the biographies that have been submitted and encourage others to do so also. I would love to hear from any classmates who would care to contact me via mail or e-mail and if you are ever in the KC area, I am in the phone book - so please call!
