Memories—The older I get, the better they get. (Note: I didn’t say accurate, I said better!) But one memory I am sure of is the great times we had at the Missouri Theatre. Whether it was attending a Saturday matinee, cooling down with your best friends on a hot summer night or going on that highly anticipated Saturday night date—time at the Missouri Theatre was always a special event!
As you may or may not know, the Missouri Theatre’s last movie presentation was in July, 1988. Since then, the building has been home to the Missouri Symphony and has hosted events from all segments of the arts—symphony, dance, vocal, films, big band, jazz festivals—the list is endless. However, the building is now in need of an extreme makeover to return it to its past glory.
So what does this trip down memory lane have to do with you? My inquiry is simple. Would your class like to assist in continuing these memories by sponsoring a chair at the Missouri Theatre? By making a donation of $250, $500, $750 or $1000 you will have an inscribed plaque (You choose the wording) to be placed on a chair at a location of your choice. A program entitled “Take Your Seat” affords individuals and groups the opportunity to be a part of this building’s past as well as its future!
Interested? Great! and many thanks!! Need more information? Contact Anne Meysenburg at 573.875.0600 or via email at info@motheatre.org or contact me. I will look forward to visiting with you!
