Columbia native born at
Noyes Hospital, November 14, 1945.
Went to work in Sedalia for Mattingly's as
assistant manager. Came back to Columbia and enrolled in UMC in 1964.
Went to work at Columbia Post Office January
1, 1965 in temporary position.
Retired from U.S. Postal Service as Postmaster
of Fayette, MO as of January 1, 2010.
Married Vicki Pugh, Class of '65, June 5, 1965
after meeting Summer of 1964.
Daughter Kimberly was born August 3, 1968 and
is the mother of Kaitlyn, born September 13, 1995. Daughter Kelli was
born April 7, 1978 and is the mother of twins, Ava and Ella, born August
13, 2010. Travel
to New Zealand, Australia and Hawaii. (Bucket List)
Best memories were hanging with Ronnie Roth in
HHS. Worst
memory was being a sophomore when my brother Jim was a senior and it was
the last year of the beanies. I had to sleep in mine!!
After school was Play Boy, Dog N Suds and
Driveteria. On weekends The Den
Most contact is Richard Wilson and Charlie
Blackmore since school.
Earliest memories of watermelon stand on
Business Loop around old Mc Gee Drug having it by the slice, Zero House
on Sundays, Empire Roller Rink on Business Loop, Drake's Drive Inn on
Business Loop and collecting change under the steps from the car hops.
Grand Avenue Grocery and ice cream and Zesto on Business Loop. Ridgeway
School with Mike Andrews, Melvin Burnett, Jack Palmer, Bob Bryson, Eldon
Mosby among others. A day trip to Hulen's Lake to swim for the day in
the middle of nowhere!!
Biggest accomplishment was going from casual
employee to postmaster in postal career.
1. Going from 110 lbs. to 180!!
