'43 Kewpie e-mailers:

Forsee screwed up again (Boy, I wish I had a nickel for every time I've had to say that !)
It's FRANCES Armstrong, not Dorothy, as stated on page 8 of the latest '43 Kewpie Notes effort.
My sincere apologies to Frances Armstrong Corcoran, our '43 classmate.
I don't know where my head was!
Dorothy, her sister, goes to our church and we see her quite often.  Maybe that's why my feeble mind switched channels.
Just wanted you to know with this inadequate attempt to make amends.

Dear 43 Kewpies:

This note is in regard to my father, Keith Kilbreath, who passed away 2-27-07.
He worked as a trouble shooter for the woolen industry and then plastic manufacturers.
He lived his life in the small town of Douglas, Massachusetts for his adult life.
He raised two daughters and had four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He had served in the navy as a gunner (airplane).
His wife, Helen, died in 1986.  He enjoyed golfing, reading and carving.
He has many signs in "The Sturbridge Village" (a museum of a living 1600s village).
To be honest, his heart never left Missouri and periodically would try and convince my
mother to leave her large tight-knit family and re-locate there – to no avail.
His brother, Donald, still resides there.
Dad always enjoyed your newspaper, saved it and would look it over again.
Please take pride in this endeavor for it makes many people happy.

    Sincerely,
    Pamela MacNeil

'43 Kewpie e-mailers:
Had a good time yesterday at the '43 Kewpie monthly luncheon at the Columbia Senior Center.
Ed Gibbs is now at the Veteran's Home in Mexico, MO and his son, Scott, brought him to the lunch.
The guys especially got to talking about WWII experiences and asking Ed what he remembered from parachuting out of the bomber when it was hit over Germany.  Ed was hit with multiple flak fragments in his legs.  When he was captured after hitting the ground, he spend lots of time in a German Prisoner of War hospital in Holland until the end of the war.
Remember, the group meets the third Tuesday of each month.  Come join us!

Clock wise from left front:  Violet Bennett Canole, Ginger Wheeler, Ed Gibbs, Helen Fenton Graves, Scott Gibbs, Joe Forsee, Bill Graves, Robert Kemper, Betty Kemper and Hilda Bozarth Moore.
