CHEERS, FELLOW KEWPIES! My name is Molly Lyman and I am the head cheer and dance coach at Hickman.
With the current COVID-19 pandemic and MSHSAA deciding that cheerleaders MUST remove their masks to participate in different aspects of the sport, we are no longer able to compete at the Regional and State level. Our athletes have worn masks every minute of their practices and games for the last 9 months and have been able to keep all 40 athletes healthy.
Because these talented athletes are no longer able to compete for another State title, we searched for another way to compete. The National Cheerleading Association is hosting their High School Nationals COMPLETELY VIRTUAL AND THEY ALLOW MASKS TO BE WORN! We have shifted our focus to this competition, but we now need to fundraise more money to pay for our credentialing, entrance fees, and a new uniform that is comparable to other nationally competitive teams.
These kids are looking for ANY donations to help. We currently need $6500 to make this dream a reality. If you are able, please help this dedicated group! Your donation is tax deductible and will go straight to the cheer program!
