Ann Cornett May 7, 2009
I was born October 15, 1936 in Pleasanton, Iowa to Charles C & Reva Hagan Cornett. Moved to Columbia when six weeks old. Left in second half of first grade, moved to Troy, Mo. Third grade moved to Marshall, MO, fourth & half of fifth moved to Springfield, MO & back to Columbia. Finished fifth at Grant school then sixth at Ridgeway. On to Jeff Jr, Hickman & MU. After marriage in 1956, lived in Albuquerque, NM, Marianna, FL, Laredo & Harlingen, TX, San Mateo, CA, Yokota Air Base, Japan, Clark Air Base, Philippines, Sumter, SC, Hampton, VA, Woodbridge, VA then home to Columbia. What a great experience for the family to visit & live in so many places. Marriage folded & finally ended in 1982.
After being married to Neil,in May of '84, we moved to Broken Arrow, OK & lived there for almost ten years, then once again moved back to Mo. We lived a couple of years in Col. then in 2001 moved to Rocky Mount & lived on the water. We love the lake but, due to health issues, we are selling our lake home as I need to be able to get to a hospital without waiting an hour. Our life is great, I have a wonderful partner, great kids, grandkids & even greats. We seem to stay busy & looks like our long years of support, in attendance as well as financial, is beginning to pay off., Tigers' lookin' good! We have tailgating down to a science. If you are at a home game, stop by lot C & look us up. Don't forget to introduce yourself. I can't believe how quickly time flies, the older you get the faster it goes.

Arrived in Columbia, Mo. when I was in the third grade, graduated from Robert E Lee School, Jefferson Jr. High, and Hickman High, skipped my Junior year and graduated with the class of '54! Go to all the reunions class dinner gatherings monthly, also attend the class of '55's reunions and dinners. I just love all of you folks and its so much fun keeping up with everyone. After High School, did a brief time at Stephens College and married and had six lovely children! Have worked at the home office of Shelter Ins. for thirty three years. Have three grandchildren! Serve on the City/County Community Service Advisory Commission for the city of Columbia, county of Boone, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Freedom House I & II (non-profit barrier free apt complexes for the Physically Disabled)and lo and behold I became an Elk two years ago!!!! Love to hear from all you Kewpies!

My name at Hickman was Merle Ann Feltz...now Meyer. Married 27 years to Phillip Meyer. Have four children, 26 to 20 years. Left Columbia the day after graduation...moving to Elmhurst, Ill. Attended Rosary College 1954-56; returned to St. Louis with the family and attended St. Louis Univ., 1956-58, graduating with a BS in Speech/Drama. Worked at a TV station there for 9 months, then travelled to Mexico City and on return, was hired by Pan American as a stewardess. Flew out of Florida to Caribbean islands, East Coast of South America, Central American and San Francisco and New Orleans; later flying to Europe and Africa. Flew for 5 years. Also studying voice and piano. Lived in Queens, NY four years; Returned to St. Louis, teaching and working and eventually left and wound up in Virginia Beach where I have lived ever since. I always loved the Verse Choir Class from Hickman and have taught choral speaking. Would love to hear from any of my classmates from years 1952-54!
It is time for our 50th class reunion, and we hope that everyone will make plans to attend.
