After Hickman I went to the University of Missouri, and continued to work as an athletic trainer for the Tigers.  Following college I became an EMT, a firefighter, and then a Paramedic.  I worked at Boone hospital Center for 6 yrs.  In 1999 I became a Flight Paramedic for LifeFlight Eagle in Kansas City.  I was married for 10 yrs. and divorced in 2003.  My daughter Lauren turns 10 in Sept. 2004.

Hey class of 1985! After high school I stuck around Columbia for the five year college program; most of you probably met me after high school, as I worked at the infamous T-Baker's and the memorable ByGeorge during college.
I've spent most of my time since college in the hospitality industry, from bouncer, dishwasher, waiter to Food and Beverage Director of 5 star resorts.  Somewhere in between I found the most rewarding aspect of my career: teaching future Chefs and industry professionals.  I spent three years as Chef Instructor at the Florida Culinary Institute and am currently the Lead Instructor for Hospitality Mgmt at Le Cordon Bleu, Miami.  Married twice, first time I don't know why, second (and current) time for love.  My wife Megan and I have a beautiful daughter (Nadia)..born Aug 30, 2004.

Jill Coffman February 12, 2004
After graduating from UMC, I worked with spinal cord injuries as a Registered Nurse at Rusk Rehabilitation Center for about 5 1/2 years.  I married Dan Dee from Boonville in 1992.  After having our son Connor in 1994, I became a stay-at-home mom.  After Connor got in school, I started to substitute teach part-time in the Columbia Public Schools.  I became involved with several local organizations, MADD and STAR Prevention, after my parents were killed by a drunk driver in 1996.  I have spoken at many impact panels as well as to schools and the media over the years.  Presently, we keep busy with school functions and Connor's sports (basketball & baseball).

Hi all!! After HHS I joined the US Army, was stationed in Fort Ord CA, stayed in for 3 years, lived in California for about 3 more years stayed in the Army Reserves and then moved back to Missouri with my daughter Amber who is now 17.  I went to Metro Busniess College in Rolla Mo for a year moved to Columbia in Dec 1995, worked for MFA Oil Company off of Stadium (next to Hollywood Theatres)for 5 years, worked for the state in Jefferson City for a few and decided to return to work in the Columbia area.  I met my husband which has been almost five years now, we have two sons, Alexander 4, and Evan 4 months old born March 16, 2006.  I live on south side of town (Columbia).  I would like to apologize for not attending past reunions, it was hard to get away from things at that moment. I worked for the University Physicians for almost three years and decided to be a stay at home mom, finish getting my accounting degree and joined the National Guard for 6 years.

Wesley Cox January 11, 2006
Attended UMC 1986-1992, with one year off in the process.  Was told I was "over-qualified" on a couple of local job interviews.  The concern was my self-employment history and the liklihood I would become self-employed again and the empolyers wouldn't get their investment back for training.  So I became self-employed again, just without the training, until 2000.  Bought a house in Columbia in 1994.  Met Kelly Kelly in 1993 by way of a work association and we became casual friends.  We became romantically involved in 1998 after her husband left to be with a 17 year old!  The real reason was that she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a year before.  Her affliction is, of course, a significant part of our lives, but we cope.  I took a "job" in 2000 as system administrator for an internet service provider, working remotely by way of the internet from home.  I still set my own schedule, outside of emergencies, and mostly determine what I do (still not exactly a job -- there seems to be a pattern here, hmm).  Developed my metal working craft starting 1996.  Now have a fully equipped shop which is definitely part of my work future, though I haven't determined what niche to pursue in the odd economy where I now live.  Spring of 2005 we were seriously considering selling the house and buying a bigger place in Boone County with land in order to move my Dad and my welding shop with us, saving considerable rent.  I had the inspiration that it would be only slightly more work to instead move to the place we love, northeast Wisconsin on the shore of Lake Michigan.  We arrived here with the last load September 13, 2005.  "Slightly" more work was dead wrong, but the rest was just right.  I now live in a town of 3300 people 30 miles due east, more or less, of Green Bay (the town).  The house is 4 blocks from the public beach, marina and light house in the middle of a very pleasant small town on a 3/4 acre lot.  The house is 4500 square feet finished plus full basement, still overwhelming at times.  The plan was to have plenty of space, since my Dad hasn't lived with another human for 25 years, and to have room for a day care and home.  We did the day care in a normal size house thing for 5 years and that sucks!  I'm currently obsessed with learning about boat design and construction and sailing.  My longer term plan is to build an ocean going steel sail boat and sail around the world.  Kelly and I both love to travel and it seems like the natural next step.  On a personal note, this web site is very cool.  I lost touch with everyone I knew in high school (life intervenes).  It's good to see pictures of everyone again and I'm looking forward to reading other bios now that I'm finally finished with mine.  Ciao.

Linda Danley March 23, 2005
Since high school, I was a wedding & events planner for several years in KCMO.  In 1991, I met & married my husband Eric (when he was teaching in Columbia, through mutual friends).  We moved back to KCMO were I work for an Enviromental Engineering Firm for 5 yrs.(while Eric was getting a Masters Degree from Rockhurst College in Physical Therapy).  In 1996 he graduated & we moved to Austin, TX were we had our 1st child (son) Ryan.  I have been a stay @ home mother since then.  We had our 2nd child Sarah in 2000.  That Oct. we moved to Knoxville, TN were my husband became a small PT clinic's director.  In Oct. 2004 he became a Spin Specialist for the largest Ortho Group in the area.  In the fall of 2005 I will caring for an infant part-time in our home.  In the fall of 2007 I will be doing something part-time out of the home.  I am currently the President of our Neighborhood Assoc., as well as Sarah's preschool room mom.  I also volunteer @ our (All Saints Catholic)church & am involved in a couple of Book Groups.  As well as being team mom & a Cub Scout Ast. Den Leader & shuttle service.  As a stay-at-home-mom I'm never home.

Ronnell Davis (McBride) June 8, 2005
Hello everyone! After graduating from McCook College in Nebraska, I went on to receive another degree from Hawaii Loa College in Hawaii.

Moved to Kansas City, MO and worked for the Ritz Carlton hotel. Decided to relocate to another Ritz property in Marina Del Rey in Los Angeles California.  Continued working for the Ritz Carlton while perusing an acting career.  While in Kansas City I met a very lovely young woman named Amanda who is now my wife.

After being in LA for about three years Amanda and I had our first son named London Blake, who is now 6 years old.

We currently reside in Overland Park, Kansas, I guess you could say we came back home.

I am currently working for Rockhurst University as a Training Consultant.

We now have a new addition to the family, another boy named Jackson Chandler, born in July of 2000.

I try to get back to Columbia atleast 2-3 times per year to visit family and for a round of golf or two.  Still shoot hoops from time to time but spend a lot of my free time as a personal trainer.  I have very fond memories of David H. Hickman High School.  Seems as if it were only yesterday.
Feel free to email any time.

John Dawson March 4, 2003
After graduating, I spent 10 years in the Air Force as a weapons delivery avionics technician on B-52s and munitions maintenance coordinator. I left the Air Force in 1994 and moved to Boise Idaho. I am now a senior software engineer at a Fortune 500 semiconductor manufacturing company.

My lovely wife Sandi and I have three beautiful daughters (Hailey - 4, Shelby - 3 and Chloe - 4 mos) who are the joy of our lives.

Kendall Dunwiddie March 4, 2002
I joined the Army right after high school from '85-'92 and had a blast-worked hard/partied hard. Spent time in Germany, Kansas, Turkey. I met my wife, Irene in '89, married in '93, and we have a daughter, Catalina, born in '99. We lived in Seattle from '92-'98 and now live in beautiful San Diego. I've been working in the Human Resources field since '92 and currently am the HR Manager for a chain of retail stores called Pacific Eyes & T's (www.pacificeyes.com). We cater to surfers/boarders. I'm an avid snowboarder/softball player/beer drinker.

Dave Garro March 4, 2002
After graduation I went to college for a year, tried to play football and obtained my MR. (got married).  Took a job with the state of Missouri, have worked there ever since.  I oversee the processing of Missouri individual income tax returns, which entails supervising upwards to 350 people.  My wife (Lisa) and I have two girls (Rebecca-10 and Rachel 1 1/2 yrs old).  I currently live in a small town (Vienna)which is between Jefferson City and Rolla, Missouri.  I ended up buying a small farm and hope to retire here-with a driving range right out my backdoor (I'm not really a farmer-just a city guy with land).  I find it hard to remember all the things we did in school but, cherish the close friends I made and the great times we had.  Working in Jefferson City has been tough on an old Kewpie-I've lost my butt on many bets against those Jay River Rats.

I've lived an academic gypsy's life, moving from place to place to place until I ended up in central Pennsylvania as a physics professor at Bucknell University.  I picked up some syllables by marriage and am now Ben Vollmayr-Lee (makes me a lot easier to find on the web!).  We recently (Nov 2000) had our first child, and he is a lot of fun (of course).  Some of my family still lives in Columbia so I'm back visiting once a year or so.  Drop me a line!

Jackie Ort October 16, 2005
I left Columbia in October 86 to join the Navy.  I've been half way around the world twice and I've loved almost every minute of my nearly 20 year career.  I'm a divorced mother of 3, 2 boys and a girl.  I'm currently serving my last year in the Navy in Jacksonville Florida and I intend to make my home here after I retire next year.  I go back to Columbia seldom, but I do try to keep in touch with those that really impacted my life.

April Ruble May 29, 2009
I have lived here all of my life except for 6 months of my 6th grade year when we lived in Chicago, Illinois.  As a child, I believe that I moved more than any other child has before.  The longest I ever attended one school was two years (remember that almost all of this was in the same town).  As an adult, I married shortly after graduating high school and have moved only twice.  Some may count it as four times since we lived with my in-laws for 6 months while our house was being built; but, I've only had two mailing addresses my entire adult life.  Anyway, I have a wonderful husband and two precious daughters, ages 15 and 16.  Yes, I keep busy with all of their sports and other high school activities.

I started attending evening classes at Moberly Area Community College long after high school in the fall of 2000.  I transferred to Columbia College in 2001; I received my Associates of Science degree in Business Administration in May of 2004 and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a Management Major and Computer Information Systems Emphasis in 2007 from Columbia College .  I was really interested in computers throughout my high school years but several factors including the death of my grandfather, marriage, and a nice job offer kept me from accepting a scholarship and attending DeVry University upon high school graduation.  I have worked full-time in various office positions which have only allowed me to be a user of today's computers.  I recently transferred to a new position where I am training to become a computer programmer.

I have been employed for the members of Boone Electric Cooperative for the past 18 years.  I have held several positions which is a great asset for learning the "inside" ways of how things work in my new position.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing softball, kickball, and just about anything outdoors with my friends and family.  I love to travel although my budget does not allow me to as much as I'd like.  I have been fortunate enough to visit Texas, California, Las Vegas, Costa Rica, and Florida.  For our 10th wedding anniversary, our family took a cruise visiting the ports of Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios.  I would love to visit Hawaii someday but that will take a lot more savings than I have right now.  Another dream is to take a long drive towards the West Coast seeing the Dakota's, Wyoming, Yellowstone, Badlands, etc.  Right now, our family is concentrating on high school activities and college planning for our daughters.

I been blessed with a wonderful family and great friends.  I thank God everyday for my good fortunes.

Mindy Sanford October 2, 2004
After graduation I went to MU and graduated with a BA four years later. Two weeks after graduation I married and moved to New Zealand for a year. Later we settled in Florida, then Oregon, and back to Florida again (great place to live despite hurricanes). I was in the insurance business for several years until mothering became my primary occupation. We have two lovely home-schooled daughters who are now 6 and 3. I am really hoping we have a 20 year reunion so I can see my Kewpie friends again. - Mindy

Tony Thorpe March 16, 2002
I'm currently the coordinator of the Lakes of Missouri Volunteer Program.  I'm married, with a son in the first grade.  I got married on the day of the 10th reunion, so I didn't attend.  Maybe the 15th or the 20th won't conflict with my previous "engagements".

Brian Voth July 17, 2001
I received a bachelor's and Master's Degree from University of Missouri - Columbia in Mechanical and Aerospace engineering.  I found a job in Detroit, Michigan working for Altair Engineering, Inc. and did consulting work for the "Big 3" automakers.  The people in Michigan were nice and some of the projects I worked on were very cool, but Detroit is an ugly place to live.  I worked a transfer to the Irvine, California office for a few years working on an innovative software program called OptiStruct.  Now I live in Chula Vista, California working on emerging engineering technology.  Personally, I write music and have my own musical project named "Fireaxe."  My latest CD "Lovecraftian Nightmares" is included in the Kewpie Alumni Authors Project.  I also enjoy posting to USENET, cycling and writing software.
